The Nativity Set is a Christmas blow mold set made by Empire Plastics and General Foam Plastics from the late 1960’s to 2017. It was sold until 2018. It is a set including the three most prominent pieces of the Nativity, the Baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

History[]

This nativity was originally made by Empire from the late 1960’s to 1995 (the Baby Jesus mold was different from the top image when Empire made it). The set was available in several different colours over the years as well as White Pearl and Wood Grain variants.

In the late 1970’s a shepherd and sheep were added to the lineup followed by the Wisemen Set, Camel, Donkey, and Ox in the 1980’s.

After Empire's downsize in 2001 General Foam Plastics acquired the molds that same year and produced the set (with the Baby Jesus mold from the Child Nativity Set) until their closing in 2017.

What is presumed to be New Old stock was sold until 2018 at Walmart stores.

In 2017 Cado Products, known for purchasing defunct blow mold pioneer Union Products in 2010, purchased the nativity set molds as well as a few others at General Foam's closing auction. As of 2019, the set has not been produced, however it is likely the set will be produced in the coming years.
